Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
Add milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For an extra moist cake, substitute 1 cup of the milk with buttermilk.
